By The Octagon Desk

Responsible gambling notice: Never bet more than you can afford to lose. 21+. Call 1-800-GAMBLER if gambling stops being fun.

Beginner's primer

Moneyline

The simplest UFC bet. Pick a winner. A negative number (e.g. -240) is the favorite — wager that amount to win $100. A positive number (e.g. +200) is the underdog — bet $100 to win $200.

Method of victory

Bet how the fight ends: KO/TKO, submission or decision. Higher payouts than moneyline because you're combining the winner with the finish.

Round / round groups

Bet which round the fight ends in. "Topuria in rounds 1–2" pays substantially more than "Topuria to win."

Totals (over/under)

Bet whether the fight goes over or under a set round total (usually 1.5 or 2.5).

Parlays

Combine multiple bets. All must win. Pays exponentially more, hits exponentially less.

Card-specific best bets

  1. Bo Nickal by submission (+175): Highest-confidence prop on the board. Daukaus engages on the mat, Nickal wins scrambles, sub by round two.
  2. Topuria inside the distance (+115): The champ has finished his last four. Plus money on a probable finish is value.
  3. Lewis vs Hokit Under 1.5 rounds (-115): Either Lewis lands and KO ends it, or Hokit imposes wrestling and a stoppage materializes. Both paths cash the under.
  4. Diego Lopes by submission (+210): Lopes has a Nogueira black belt; Garcia hunts the KO and gives up position. Sub by round one is live.
  5. Ruffy vs Chandler Under 1.5 rounds (-200): Neither man takes a backward step. Someone gets KO'd by 4:00 of round one.

Recommended parlays

2-leg "safe stack" (~+220)

Nickal ML + O'Malley ML. Two highest-implied-probability favorites on the card. Same-night payout in the +200 range.

3-leg "high confidence" (~+550)

Nickal ML + Topuria ML + Lopes ML. Adds the main-event champion and the FW opener for a card-night ticket.

5-leg "card sweep" (~+1850)

Nickal + Topuria + Lopes + O'Malley + Pereira. All five chalk picks. Survives if every favorite holds; one loss kills it.

Dog parlay (~+590)

Gaethje + Lewis. Two of the most ruthless one-shot finishers of the modern era. More dog plays →.

Bankroll management

  • Decide your card-night total before the first bet. 1–2% of monthly budget is sane.
  • Never chase losses with a "make-up" parlay on the main event.
  • Cap parlays at 10–15% of your night's bankroll.
  • Single-fight bets should be 1–3% of bankroll, never more.
  • If you lose your bankroll, you're done for the night. Period.
